Position Overview:
Merkur Offshore is a German offshore wind farm in the North Sea that delivers up to 400MW of renewable energy and is operational since 2019. The team of Merkur consists of ~20 people and not only manages the operations of the wind farm but also provides support under consultancy agreements to other wind farms and projects that are under development or under construction.
With the expansion of these consultancy services, our HSE-lead has broadened his focus area, and the team is therefore looking for support from a
HSE Engineer Offshore Wind (m/f/d)
The Engineer will support the Merkur HSE lead with a variety of tasks that are required for the safe operation of our wind farm and for keeping our subcontractors on their toes to adhere to our high safety standard.
This variety of tasks requires the candidate to be flexible, but it also provides for the opportunity to get insight in all aspects of the operation and management of the wind farm. Preferably, or over time, the candidate will also strengthen Merkur’s consultancy services.
Such tasks will include:
- Occasional travel to the windfarm for safety inspections
- Root cause analysis of incidents, challenging subcontractor’s incident investigations and follow up on actions/mitigation
- Conduct safety audits
- Support on emergency and crisis management
- Assessment of planned retrofits or design changes from safety & engineering point of view
The candidate of choice will have:
- Degree in Engineering or related field and proven experience in a working environment with a strong focus on HSE
- Preferably with experience and/or expertise in:
- occupational risks prevention, development and implementation of HSE processes, the wind industry or comparable industry and certifications in health & safety.
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills combined
- Self-initiative and independent work, assumption of responsibility
- Good communication skills in German and English
