Position Overview:
Merkur Offshore is a German offshore wind farm in the North Sea that delivers up to 400MW of renewable energy and is operational since 2019. The team of Merkur consists of ~20 people and not only manages the operations of the wind farm but also provides support under consultancy agreements to other wind farms and projects that are under development or under construction.
With the expansion of these consultancy services, the team is looking for support from a
Senior Engineer Offshore Wind (m/f/d)
The Engineer will support the Merkur technical and asset management team with focus of tasks that are required to keep the assets in the best possible technical shape. In its role the Engineer will focus on the asset management of the foundations, transition pieces, array cables, and towers of the wind turbine generators. Preferably, the candidate will also be able to strengthen Merkur’s consultancy services.
Such tasks will include:
- Project management of service contracts for annual maintenance of foundations, transition pieces and array cables incl. management of related procurement processes
- Monitor progress of service activities in accordance with the schedule
- Ensure compliance with HSE and environmental requirements
- Close interaction with operational management to ensure smooth execution of works, incl. identification of lessons learned for continuous improvement
- Liaison with contract management to ensure compliance with budget and contractual protections
- Technical support of mechanical interfaces to wind turbine generators and tower
- Liaison with electrical engineering
- Review design and execution documentation prepared by the service providers and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
- Support asset lifetime assessments and extension strategies
- Initiate or review design changes to improve operational performance
- Create and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Occasional travel to the windfarm
The candidate of choice will have:
- Completed his/her study in renewables or mechanical engineering
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a project management, engineering or maintenance management role, preferably offshore
- A broad interest in all aspects of renewables which can be of a technical, contractual or commercial nature
- A team player with a hands-on mentality
- Good communication skills in German and English
