- The Challenge
Installed capacity of OWF is 396 MW. Based on grid code requirements the OWF shall provide specific amount of reactive power to be grid code compliance. But reactive power will be decreased with an increase of active power production. To optimize production power upgrade might be an interesting solution. However, prior assessment verification of actual power curve of WECs is required. No wind met mast available.
- The Solution
- Agreement with OEM to perform LiDAR power curve verification campaign
- Coordination /management of measurement campaign by Merkur
- Agreement with OEM to undertake a feasibility study on power curve upgrade in regards of static, dynamic, fatigue and electrical loads (for power cable) as well as a prototype test with changes in the control system and converter subcomponents
- Ongoing negotiations with OEM on commercial agreement in regard to sharing of potential benefits and impact on availability warranty
